Nora Munger Regatta

Members,

Saturday August 30th will be our race for the Nora Munger trophy.

 

This award is made annually to the winner of the Labor Day Regatta. The trophy is awarded to the winner of a one-day regatta, open to all club members, and sailed on an open basis. The trophy will be suitably engraved with the winner’s name and shall remain in the future clubhouse. A keeper trophy may also be awarded. 

 

We will have a dinner following this event. We plan to have smoked Butts by our commodore Bobby Edmund and grilled Conecuh dogs!

The club will also be providing soft drinks and iced tea.

I would like for attending members and their guests to bring side dishes to share. Something that will pair well with the meat.

 If you plan to attend the dinner, please reply by lunchtime Thursday. Also, we will not turn down any desserts you may bring to share with the other members.

Well, Miles has a bad sickness with fever today. Last week I had Covid, and this week Dan has Covid. I will be unable to complete my duties tomorrow in case he is as sick or worse than today. 

Can someone please help on the committee boat in my place?

I had planned to be at the Dixie Sailing Club today. Alas, Linda has COVID and I am sure to get it. So, in the interest of not sharing it further I am staying home. I am always under normal circumstances willing to crew or to serve on the committee boat. I hope today is a great racing day.
