Saturday race results

Today was race day. During the week Keith texted me saying he was in Michigan for a regatta (they are in first after 3 races today) and would I do his race chair duty this Saturday? Sure no problem!

Looked up who was scheduled, contacted them, and Dave Harle and Ken Veazey said sure they would be there! So this morning the race committee was there and ready to go by 10:30.

In times long ago the MC fleet racer Jimbo Bryan always said “if ya don’t go, ya don’t know - so go  - ya might end up sailing”.  Well - it seemed most all saw the wind forecasts of 1-3 mph all day. They mostly said that except for Windfinder for lake Martin. It showed 4-5 starting at noon for the afternoon. 

No racers came. So at 11:50 Dave and Ken and Tony Berry and Jim Simons and I gathered at the pavilion and looked out at the water. I got out my decent quality digital wind anemometer and - oh my - beautiful mid 4 to upper 5 mph winds all over the lake! As perfect a day to sail as we had seen in a long time! And not one DSC boat out on the lake! 

So, like many times in the past, Jimbo was right! It was an awesome day and perfect for club racing/sailing! The DSC Fall Series started the first weekend in July. The next race day is on 30 August - and it will be just the second race day of the Fall Series that can have race results as with everything since that first weekend in July has had only one race date that could be sailed!  

Come on the 30th - race in the club Munger regatta - and enjoy racing in the Fall Series! See ya there!!
