Yesterday started the DSC racing season with the Frostbite Regatta. There wasn’t any frost (or much wind) but we managed to have four races.
Thank you to race committed of Roger Smith, Sherry Smith, Reed Smith (no relation) and Liz Connell for making something out of nothing.
The temps were in the mid to high 70s with the wind gently blowing out of the east initially and then shifting to the south east. The score sheet shows winds of 0,1.5,1.96 and 1.3 for the four races.
The trick for the day was to keep your head out of the boat and look for the wind on the water. The wind had a tendency to fill in different spots during the race so you had to pay attention.
We had 3 fleets represented and seven racers and the racing was quite close.
