I am here in Canada. My husband and I had an amicable seperaton
recently. We download the seperation agreement from website with $50
and select several critical points relevant to us. We split our assets
amicably and both signed.
we prepare to divorce after 1 year.

We didn't ask lawyers to sign this, but the signatures are verified
by public notaries to be authentic.

Would you please advise if this method has any legal implications?

Greatly appreciated for your kind help!

I do not practice in Canada, so I cannot give you a meaningful answer.
I can tell you though that in New York, a separation agreement has to
be executed in the same manner as a deed, with acknowledgment, etc. If
these formalities are not followed, it would not matter if the
signatures are notarized. The agreement would not be enforceable as a
matter of law.

By the way, sorry it took so long to respond to your question.
