I hope you all are having a good week. Please read through the email since there is a lot important information such as RTC, October DCM & fundraising!
Registration Fee & Transportation
Book your ticket to PASSPORTC for an affordable price of $12 (this will be covering your food)!
Transportation to RTC will be $30. The bus will provide transportation from Helix High School to CSUSM and back. I understand that the bus is expensive, but trust me the experience of being there and learning to become a leader is worth it. You many also provide your own means of transportation if you wish to not take division transportation.
However taking the bus will be very convenient for your parents.
If you plan on taking the bus, please RSVP by this Friday before 2:00 PM
What To Bring:
- Material needed to write notes
- Two forms: waiver and medical release
- Registration fee: $12
- Transportation fee: $30
- Appropriate clothing
- Division Apparel or clothes that are division colors (sky blue & emerald/dark green)
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm
I know that EA Anderson has mentioned that the DCM was this Saturday but we will have it the 21st instead. This Friday was too last minute and I know that all of you are busy individuals. Below is the new date.
WHEN: Saturday, October 21st
WHERE: TBD
TIME: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
At this DCM, we will be going over new cheers for the 2017-18 term as well as make spirit gear like leis for Fall Rally.
Since we are in the October, it's time to think more about ways we can fundraise for our preferred charities. Two of our preferred charities are usually the main focus in the fall besides member retention. Those two are Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) and Project Eliminate - UNICEF.
PTP: the reason why we attend Fall Rally is to celebrate the proceeds that have been made for this charity. Please try to fundraise so that we can help hospitals take care/educate the families suffering from pediatric trauma.
Project Eliminate - UNICEF: have you every heard of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF? If not, its a fundraiser during the month of October that raises money to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus around the world as well as provides families around the world with the necessities to live. Students, instead of asking for candy, would as for donations. There are also little orange boxes that can be distributed to Key Clubbers.
Officers, I have 100 boxes available for you to use however, it is not enough for all clubs. Please head over to the Kiwanis website to order boxes for the clubs that you serve. The boxes are free. I encourage you all to participate and set a goal!
An image of the box will be attached to this email. I have 5 packs of 25 boxes available so please let me know if you would like one at the October DCM.
Fundraising for Club: Clubs may also fundraise for themselves in order to lower the cost of annual events such as RTC, Fall Rally, Rose Float and District Convention. if you do fundraise for your club, please talk to your sponsoring Kiwanis club and work with them on that. Please do not plan fundraisers through your school's ASB. You can have bake sales, fundraisers at restaurants, etc!
Thank you so much for your time and service, Peacocks!
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, comments or concerns!
