Welcome into the new year! Now that a new Key Club term is fast approaching, the time for Conclave is here! Conclave is an annual meeting where delegates from all Makai clubs vote on the candidates for next term's Lieutenant Governor. This year, Conclave will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 from 9AM-12PM!
This email contains important information pertaining to Location information, Agenda, Registration, and Division Contest Judging. Please read this email in its entirety, and reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!
LOCATION
Conclave will be occurring synchronously across all three islands. Clubs will be meeting in-person at Hilo High School (Room R-10) on the Big Island, Baldwin High School’s Library on Maui Island, and Kauai High School’s Library on Kauai Island.

Conclave will consist of a Candidate Meet and Greet where members will be open to ask questions and learn more about the candidates, Candidate Speeches in which each individual will be allocated time to expand on their goals as Lieutenant Governor, Caucus Session in which delegates will ask questions on the behalf of their club, and Clubs Discussion/Voting in which a Lieutenant Governor elect will be determined by a majority vote casted by the club delegates.
REGISTRATION
Conclave is open to ALL members, not just for candidates and delegates! At this event, you will be able to ask questions of the LTG candidates during the Candidate Meet and Greet in order to better understand their platform, goals, and who they are as a person. In addition to meeting next term's LTG ahead of time, you can get a look at what goals and plans will be set in motion the next term.
To register for Conclave, you fill out the Conclave Registration Form [HERE] or linked below. Clubs MUST be registered by Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at 6PM.
This Registration Form is also the same form in which attendees can indicate themselves as either an ATTENDEE or a DELEGATE. Each club in Makai is REQUIRED to have TWO delegates, who will represent their club by asking questions during Caucus Session and participating in Voting. Delegates are the ONLY individuals who have these responsibilities at Conclave. Both club delegates must be an underclassmen (non-graduating senior) and at least one (1) must be a general member not holding a club-officer position.
DIVISION CONTEST JUDGING
Following Conclave, we will have Division Contest Judging. On the Registration Form, delegates will also have the choice to be a part of the Division Judging Committee, in which they will judge submissions for the Kiwanis/Faculty Advisor of the Year, Club Attire, Member of the Year, and Most Improved Club Division Contests.
The deadline for ALL division contests has been EXTENDED to Sunday, January 14th, 2024 @6PM HST to allow more time for submission completion! Please complete contests by this deadline to be considered at Division Contest Judging. All submissions and portfolios MUST be submitted by emailing me at d22m...@cnhkeyclub.org.

Hi everyone,
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have made the unfortunate decision to reschedule Conclave to occur next week Saturday, January 27th, 2024 @7PM instead. Conclave will be held completely virtually over Zoom to ensure that everyone is still able to attend.
With this in mind, we will still be hosting our January Division Council Meeting, Division Service Event, and Division Contest Judging this Saturday, January 20th, 2024 @9AM at the aforementioned locations with a slightly altered agenda and schedule.
I sincerely apologize if this comes as an inconvenience, and greatly appreciate all of your support and understanding.
