It’s that time of year again, school is almost back in session! With new faces on campus and the academic year starting anew, August is the perfect time to welcome new members into your Key Club. I encourage all of you to participate in your school’s club day, host informational meetings for new members, and organize fun and engaging club socials to make the most out of the club rush season! Remember that service is not only caring for our communities, but sharing that spirit with our wonderful schools as well! Happy serving Makai!

August SOSP

The Spotlight on Service Program is a CNH District program that has a different monthly theme or charity for clubs to do projects on each month!

The August Spotlight on Service is Children's Education! Some project ideas for this theme are:

• School Supply Drive

• Library Visit

• Book Collection

• Family Trivia Night
  

Every club in Makai is highly encouraged to do at least one project related to the month's SOSP!

If you do a project relating to the August SOSP, make sure to submit the project to the district by September 5th to this form [HERE]! View the SOSP Calendar [HERE]!

August DCM & Agenda

The August DCM will take place in-person on Sunday, August 20th, 2023 at 2:00PM. The theme of the event is "Dinosaur-ing into Service!" We will discuss Region Training Conference, Fall Rally West, and the September SOSP! The agenda for the event and link to join virtually is right here:

Here is an update on our division and district goals!

DIVISION

RTC 2023 

Region Training Conference, also known as RTC, is a training event open to all Key Club members across Hawai’i! There will be educational workshops, service events, Fall Rally West, and opportunities to bond with attendees from all three divisions! This year, RTC will be taking place from September 2 to September 3, 2023 at Iolani School in Honolulu! 

RTC registration is now open for all members until TODAY August 1st, 2023! For registration, a designated advisor or officer from each club is required to fill out this Google Form [HERE].

Along with virtual registration, members must also submit a registration fee of $75 as well as the following completed forms:

• RTC 2023 Registration Form

• Kiwanis Photo Release Form

• Code of Conduct

• Kiwanis Medical Release Form

Forms can be found in the folder [HERE]. Registration fees and attendee forms must be submitted to the division by August 8th, 2023. Refer to the Region Training Conference email posted on the division reflector for more information!

If you are interested in attending RTC, please let your club president or advisor know as soon as possible!

Division Shirts

We are creating NEW division shirts for the 2023-24 term, which will be double-sided, neon blue dry-fit shirts! The cost for each shirt will be $12.

You may access the shirt design [HERE]; it includes the Key Club logo, our division mascot, each of the islands, and all of our clubs in the division! The designs are also attached below! 

If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, please let your club president or advisor know as soon as possible!
