Hello Diversity Ambassadors!

I hope that everyone is doing well. The reason that you are receiving this e-mail is because as we (at the AAG) prepare for our upcoming Annual Meeting in NYC (Feb. 24-28, 2012), several of our staff members are organizing a number of activities that will showcase careers and professional development for geographers, and several of these sessions highlight topics that we feel may be of interest to many of you.

Attached is the official call for participation. You will see that we are seeking geographers from a variety of backgrounds to participate in panel discussions, workshops, and/or career mentoring sessions that will cover topics such as: diversity in the geographic workforce, working internationally, professional development and employment opportunities in business, governmental, and non-profit organizations, the academic job market, and internships and work-based learning as career preparation.

Please indicate your interest in participating by emailing Sarah Siegel, Research Assistant (ssi...@aag.org) with your c.v./resume as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the proposed format of any of these events and/or what volunteering would entail, please do not hesitate to contact Joy Adams, Senior Researcher (jad...@aag.org).

For more information about the 2012 Annual Meeting, please visit http://www.aag.org/annualmeeting. We look forward to seeing you in New York!

Many thanks for your time and assistance!

Sincerely,
Astrid Ng

Hi Astrid,

How are you? Jieun and I are living in Sarasota, Florida. We are married! and teaching at the New College of Florida.
We haven't registered yet but will be doing so very soon. Are there a set of activities already being developed around diversity?

Hope you're well.

Take care,

Ivan
