Dear Members,

Summer has begun! And with the weather getting warmer, there are no excuses not to be in the water. Come visit us at the Boat Shed this Thursday to find out what is happening at Dive La Trobe over the warmer months.

Christmas Break

Due to the holiday period, the last club night for 2015 will be Thursday 17th of December. This will be the only opportunity to pick up gear hire until the club reopens on Thursday 7th of January.

Gear hire for this three week period will be charged at the regular price for one week’s hire.

The Boat Shed will only be open from 5pm-7pm on December 17th for members to pick up gear hire prior to attending Christmas Dinner at the Junction Hotel.

Events

Christmas Dinner at the Junction Hotel (1 Plenty Rd, Preston) is being held at 7:30pm on December 17th. Names for Kris Kringle have already been drawn; however there is still the opportunity to join for dinner. RSVP by Thursday December 10th by emailing in...@divelatrobe.org.au

Gear Hire and Boat Payment Policy

Due to an increasing number of members hiring gear and accessing the boat on a regular basis, changes have been made to the gear hire and boat payment procedures in order to keep track of gear and payments.
  • Equipment must be paid for in full before it is taken.

Members will not be able to pick up gear on a Thursday night without paying (via PayPal) to an equipment officer or committee member first.

  • Equipment must be returned by no later than 7pm the following Thursday.

This is essential for courses to run efficiently, for members to access the pool and for the next weeks hire to commence. Any equipment not returned by 7pm (without prior discussion with an Equipment Officer or Committee Member in the event of extenuating circumstances) will incur an additional fee of one week’s gear hire.

  • Boat dives must be paid for in full at the end of a day’s diving, not later in the week.

Payment is preferred via PayPal immediately after the day’s diving is concluded. A boat officer or committee member will follow up payments that have not been made on the same day.

These procedures will allow our Equipment Officers to keep better track of all gear and ensure that it is well maintained and available for members to use.

Out diving with other members? Reached a special milestone such as your 50th or 100th dive? Take a picture and send it to in...@divelatrobe.org.au with a little explanation. We'll happily post it on the clubs Facebook page for all members to see!

As always, check out the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/divelatrobe) and website (www.divelatrobe.org.au) for all other upcoming events and news, and email in...@divelatrobe.org.au if you have any questions.

Until next time - keep safe, keep diving and Happy Holidays!
