Hello Everybody,
I recently started using Rhino as well as DIVA, so I hope someone can
help me.

I`m using the Envelope component for Grasshopper, which works fine,
but there`s a problem when I draw a polyline using different z
(height). For example, If the terrain has a 2 different levels, it
won`t work. But If draw it using the same z, create the envelope, and
rotate it, It will work fine....

Can someone help?

Yes, you are correct that the solar envelope will not be created if the closed polyline is not planar (but it doesn't have to be horizonatal, i.e. all vertices with the same 'z'). This is because it is limited to creating a closer Brep volume with planar faces, and the ground plane or bottom face of the envelope you are describing is not planar. If it is sloped sight, you could find a close approximation of the sloped plane and snap all of your polyline vertices to that plane. If it has two or three sloping planes, you could generate an envlope volume for each slope and merge them.
I hope this helps.
Jeff

Hi Jeff, thank's for the explication! I'll try to do it by merging the
breps!

Thanks again,

Rodrigo
