I am very interested in the simulation with Diva for Grasshopper now.
But I have a small question. In my trials with the diva for
grasshopper, the analysis nodes are all fixed on a specific surface.
Can I also change the location of nodes with the change of space
geomotry by the slider? For instance, in a room with an atrium, as the
atrium is transforming ,the floor with the analysis nodes should also
change.

I think the dynamic behaviour you sketch out would go against the way the simulation engine "understands", and hence simulates, the interplay of light and space. As for every sensor daylight coefficients are calculated, which essentially numerically encode the relationship of a sensor's position with the fixed geometry surounding it as relating to receiving illumination, changing sensor positions or modifying the geometry would necessitate the recalculation of said coeffiecients. That would be pretty slow!

Best wishes,

Max

You can generate custom nodes per Grasshopper analysis if you generate a
list of point locations <X,Y,Z> and normals <Nx,Ny,Nz>. You can see where
to plug them in the screenshot at http://daysim.com/tmp/nodes.png. If your
DIVA-components don't have this input, download and install the newest
version from this webpage:
http://wiki.diva-for-rhino.com/Grasshopper_Install

Of course, as Max notes, the daylight coefficients will be recalculated
each time if you perform a DAYSIM analysis.

Best,
Alstan
