Goodafternoon, it is the first time I use Diva for Rhino, i followed
the first tutorial and at the end if I made a Visualization I obtain
(in wxfalsecolor)just a monocolour picture, where's the problem?

Hi,

there is no problem; DIVA by default only uses monochrome materials, as DAYSIM, which is the engine for the climate based daylighting simulations, relies on treating the scene materials as having identical R, G and B values. Hence, the images are monochromatic. Should you want to convert them to a falsecolor image, rummage around in wxfalsecolor until you identify the color mapping controls, which you can use to convert the renderings to color mapped images. If you were to define your own materials that are not RGB uniform, you'd get color in your renderings, though!

Kind regards,

Max

First of all thank you very much for your fast answer, i tried to
rummage in wxfalsecolor but the only think that I reached to do is
change the color from gray to blue or red, but the picture is
comletely monocolour (I can't see nothink in the picture) and if I
click in the picture, in every point appears this value:2523cd/m2.
I followed the getting start tutorial of Diva Wiki but the result is
very different: the picture of the tutorial is in scale of gray,my
result instead is complitely gray (and i can't distinguish between the
picture and the background)

Hi Gabriele,

Can you send along the image? That would help troubleshoot things.

Are you using DIVA in Rhino 5? At the moment, in Rhino5, views do not get exported correctly to DIVA visualizations.

If this is the problem you can check and fix it by going to C:\DIVA\Temp\your project folder, and opening the file that has the extension: img.bat in a text editor. You need to find the lines of text which include the Radiance parameters.

Find -vh and -vv. Are their values set to 0? If so that is the problem. These are the Radiance parameters that control horizontal and vertical view angle. To fix the problem, you can change their values.

After -vh enter the horizontal view angle in degrees and after -vv enter the vertical view angle in degrees. Save the file, and then back in the folder, double click on the same file to run it. This will create a new image, which should be correct.

Let us know if that helps or not, and feel free to send along the image.

Kera

there's another thread that in part deals with a similar problem here:

http://groups.google.com/group/diva-for-rhino/browse_thread/thread/e399149d93cc999c/c8499ca6d62743db?lnk=raot&pli=1

Note the saved views and camera positioning part!

Best wishes,

Max
