We have two toolkits in production, one based off of the 2.x DOTK and the other off of the 3.x DOTK. We are running oXygen webhelp and webhelp responsive on 2.x and just webhelp responsive on the 3.x.

Publishing jobs sent to the 3.x are failing with the following:
  • Inconsistent metadata read from stream
  • Image format Error
These errors are present in the 2.x log, but the 2.x DOTK doesn't fail the job, whereas the 3.x DOTK does.

This, of course is a bummer... Which is why I'm writing in here to see if there are some suggestions. Can we use a parameter that says "hey, don't worry about the image metadata" or are there other suggestions?

We are running the 3.4 version of the DOTK and this is where the failures are occurring.

An example of the full line is:

Failed to read image file:/D:/AstoriaTemp/BatchMonitor/batch8940@2020-10-02-12-42-19/results-ge-webhelp-responsive/4922743.jpg metadata: Inconsistent metadata read from stream

Any help is appreciated.

Justin

Follow up - I tried our PDF plug in which is based off of pdf5.ml and also runs on the 3.x DOTK. This job succeeded. So perhaps it is something with webhelp. Question still remains and I'd be grateful for any insight.
