DITA-OT supports several alternative input formats in addition to standard DITA XML, including Markdown and the proposed XDITA, MDITA and HDITA authoring formats currently in development for Lightweight DITA. I would like know if another flovor of Markdown, reStructuredtext (.rst) is supported?

Though the underlying ideas are similar, reStructuredText is not another flavor of Markdown, it’s a separate lightweight markup language of its own.

DITA-OT does not provide direct support for rST input/output by default, but the modular architecture allows you to install plug-ins that support additional formats.

Jason Fox has published a plug-in that uses Pandoc1 to process additional formats, including reStructuredText:

Hi,

Just yesterday I was working for a presentation to add support for reStructureText referenced in a DITA Map to an older plugin which only had support for ASCIIDOC:
There is a Readme file with some instructions there.

Regards,
Radu
