Hi All,

Please see below the main input ditamap file.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
<bookmap id="GUID-4BA074AB-A465-48C3-9710-9C7FEF4AA2F8" xml:lang="EN">
<title id="GUID-6559BDCC-A3CB-405C-A845-E4389955A225">manual template</title>
<frontmatter>
<topicref href="GUID-17DD5832-F542-4A15-A5F4-5533CBD7809D.xml">
<topicmeta>
<navtitle>Disclaimer</navtitle>
</topicmeta>
</topicref>
</frontmatter>
<chapter format="ditamap" href="GUID-EBF0BB99-B91A-4F05-B18B-3F7B2298FD5F.ditamap">
<topicmeta>
<navtitle>units 31 - 36</navtitle>
</topicmeta>
</chapter>
<appendix href="GUID-BB0C7C51-199E-40D6-8824-53E99D7DB270.xml">
<topicmeta>
<navtitle>output</navtitle>
</topicmeta>
</appendix>
</bookmap>

While running latest DITA OT version 4.3.2, throwing the below error.

[DOTX053E][ERROR]: A element that references another map indirectly includes itself, which results in an infinite loop. The original map reference is to 'GUID-4BA074AB-A465-48C3-9710-9C7FEF4AA2F8.ditamap'.

Also, we have a nested loop within the input file.

Please advise if any one faced this issue earlier.

Note: The older DITA OT version (1.8) has no issues while running.

Regards
Ganapathy

Hi Ganapathy,

If the tool says that you have a reference loop and you agree there is a loop, then I am not sure what more you are looking for. Reference loops are problematic by nature and should be fixed.
