Good morning DITA-OT users!

My organization is currently on DITA-OT v3.6.1 and uses a custom SCORM plugin to produce output for our LMS. Based on what I am seeing on the web, custom SCORM plugins don't seem to be totally common practice, but I could be totally wrong there.

I have been tasked with developing an procedure to regularly upgrade our version of the DITA-OT while keeping our custom SCORM package in tact. I am wondering if anyone in the community can provide me with best practices on how to approach this and if there are any tips or tricks to determine whether a newer version of the DITA-OT will have significant impact on our custom tools or not. I have started by reading the release notes of the next version of the DITA-OT (3.7) with the intent of getting us to 3.7.4 at this time.

I am entirely new to DITA, the DITA-OT, custom plugins, etc., so my apologies if anything I've said here doesn't make total sense within the context. The individual who handled all of these processes left before I came into my role, and there was little to no crossover. If there is any more information you need to clarify the problem, I am happy to provide it. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
