The results of the 2025-2026 District 19 Patriot’s Pen judging are as follows.
FIRST PLACE:
Avia Kaye Scott
8th Grade, Woodville Middle School, Woodville, TX
Sponsored by VFW Post 2033, Woodville, TX
Award: Plaque and $300.00
Advances to the State Competition.
SECOND PLACE:
Isabella Carroll
8th Grade, Joaquin Jr. High School, Joaquin, TX
Sponsored by VFW Post 8904 & Auxiliary, Center, TX
Award: Plaque and $200.00 check.
THIRD PLACE:
Blair Burleson
8th Grade, Carthage Jr. High School, Carthage, TX
Sponsored by VFW Post 5620, Carthage, TX
Award: Plaque and $100.00 check
Please notify your students. Each will be invited to attend our next District 19 meeting to be held January 24th 2026 at Lufkin VFW Post 1836, Lufkin, TX
FOR WOODVILLE POST 2033. Please obtain a good 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 head and shoulder photo of Avia and send it to the Department of Texas VFW, 8503 North Interstate Highway 35, Austin TX 78753 (Attn: Katie Baillio/Texas VFW PP Chairwoman). This must be a good quality photo. Please accomplish this ASAP.
The following Posts also had entries and will be given credit: Lufkin Post 1836, Hemphill Post 10351, Nacogdoches Post 3893, and Henderson Post 8535.
