District 19 Teacher of the Year Results

District 19 Teacher of the Year Chairman John Foster of Carthage Post 5620 asked that I forward the results of the 2025-26 judging. Winners in each category are:
Elementary School, K-5:
Griselda Olalde
Center Elementary School, Center, Texas
Nominated by Center VFW Post 8904 and Auxiliary
She will receive a plaque and $500.00 cash award to be presented at the January 24, 2026 District Meeting to be held at Lufkin VFW Post1836.
Griselda now advances to the state judging.
Middle School, 6-8:
No entries received in this category.
High School, 9-12
Annette Gunn
Carthage High School, Carthage, Texas
Nominated by Carthage VFW Post 5620
She will receive a plaque and $500.00 cash award to be presented at the January 24, 2026 District Meeting to be held at Lufkin VFW Post1836.
Annette now advances to the state judging.
Comrade Foster shows only two posts in the district submitted entries, 5620 Carthage and 8904 Center. If your post failed to receive an entry after having distributing the forms you can still receive credit by complying with the attached. This can be found in the 2025-2026 Department of Texas Post All State Program, page 4.
