Don’t Forget These Voter Deadlines for the Upcoming Election:Voter RegistrationApril 21, 2014 is the last day to register and be eligible to vote in the May Primary and Nonpartisan Election, as well as in the July Runoff Election, if needed.
Change of AddressApril 21 is also the deadline for registered voters to change the address on their voter registration record for the May Primary and Nonpartisan Election, as well as in the July Runoff Election, if needed.
In Athens, local examples of those who would need to provide information to the Board of Elections to maintain their eligibility to vote include:
• new Athens residents
• adult children no longer living with their parents
• students moving into a dorm or apartment
• elderly persons transitioned into assisted care facilities
• citizens who have moved due to the Jack R. Wells redevelopment project
Voter registration applications may be found on the Board of Elections website at
www.athensclarkecounty.com/elections. Voters may also complete forms in person at one of several locations, including the Board of Elections Office (155 East Washington Street), the Athens Regional Library (2025 Baxter Street), the Tag Office (3025 Lexington Road), the Georgia Department of Driver Services (1505 Highway 29 North), and the UGA Tate Student Center (45 Baxter Street).
