Hello folks,

I am trying to read the documentation of distributedlog and I do see references to both thrift and finagle in the client. Could someone explain when is Finagle used for and what is Thrift used for? Is the protocol to Bookkeeper custom TCP?

Finagle and thrift are used to talk to the write proxy server (distributedlog-service).
BK client protocol uses Netty directly.
