Suggested in our group today as technologies that can help facilitate
a broker service (authentication) that facilitates distributed
conversations:
Microblogging APIs (including PubSubHubub) - for notification of
content
Also: Telehash and EventedAPIs
Pingback and trackback
Identi.ca and status.net, diaspora (can run your own servers)
