i have a setup where there are running and but in between we have kafka as the messaging layer. So checking as if there is a way we can get distributed tracing through zipkin. my understanding is span id are generated only if the communication is between microservices. Any thoughts as how to get the end to end distributed tracing..

Hi Vamsi,

It uses Jaeger as the tracing backend, but you can reconfigure Jaeger tracers to talk Zipkin format or to use OpenTracing binding for a native Zipkin tracer. The chapter also discusses the overall approach to tracing Kafka.
