Hey there,

Good news! We can move forward with the charter to drive Trace Context forward within W3C. As I have written the charter more or less on my own, I would like all of you to comment via Github if you want any changes. Overall there should not be a lot of surprises in there.

My goal is to submit this to W3C by the ned of next week.

From a submission point of view I currently see the following member organisations supporting the submission: Google, Microsoft, Dynatrace, Cisco and Huawei.

@Adrian Cole I did not have the email addresses of all the workshop folks, so please help me loop them in. Thank you!

    Hi Alois,

Great! As part of the W3C Process[1], the team will send notice to the
membership that we're considering chartering work in the area. Shall we
    point them toward https://w3c.github.io/distributed-tracing/charter.html
and its repository for comments, or to the CG mailing list? I can
prepare to send that next week. What organizations do you believe would
support/join the work if chartered? Whom else should the W3C team reach
    out to?

We and the group would review comments or proposed changes in that
"advance notice" period, and then we'd send the charter for formal
    Advisory Committee review.

    Best,
