Hi, folks.

I wanted to give you notice that I'm not going to facilitate workshops
after May. May is important, a lot of people have their tickets etc.
We have things to discuss in multiple areas even if the google doc
doesn't say so. This is in no way to discredit that and I'm certainly
going.

This workshop started as one of the greater OpenZipkin ecosystem,
literally. It is now splitting into various topical groups, which each
need time dedicated. A different type of person needs to lead this
stuff, most especially someone who has time and patience for all of
the back and forth about scheduling, people forgetting what happened,
etc.. If you choose to make this a user conference, you'll certainly
have to have time to do a *lot* more planning than what we have been.

Personally, this doesn't mean I don't do any sort of workshop any
more. I might restart one for the greater OpenZipkin ecosystem, how
this all started. I'll also attend other things as I can, still make
site visits as I tend to. I'll try my best to attend what helps us
serve our users.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you in May, just wanted to give you
a heads up.

Peace,
-A

Follow-up as I've been asked about this.

Since this message I've run a few ad-hoc sessions and very hands-on meetings with OpenZipkin folks. The next soiree will be in a couple weeks on tracing reactive and async programming. We will setup a gauntlet of vexing problems and work them through with an open mind. For example, solve without concern of breaking someone's tracing api. It will be very programmatic in nature.

I'll recap to this list mid-august with whatever we learned.
