IDM is automatically capturing NVIDIA graphic driver updates, HP Support assistant updates, Any web browser updates (Mozilla or Chrome) , which are not supposed to be downloaded by IDM. How to stop IDM from capturing these system updates ?

I have the exact same problem. My mid-2011 iMac has been running great with a new GPu and Samsung Evo850 SSD - both installed around 5-6 years ago. Turned the iMac off and left it for a few days. Turned it back on and got the folder with the question mark. Have tried starting in (internet) recovery mode and can't do a reinstall as no hard drives are found. Tried disk utility and the only volume it shows is the macOS base system. No SSD. Tried terminal and diskutil list, but only the volumes related to the os base system show up.

Dear @mikepo2808,
I notice the same masked services on my target. I could see eth0 is getting 10.x.x.x IP. If you disconnect ethernet connection, eth0 is expected to go away. Please see if proxy setting is required to enable internet in your office premises similar to other linux hosts.

managed to fix the issue by manually setting ip address, subnet mask, and gateway, numbers given by the corporates IT team.
the networkmanager in this drive is not working well in automatic mode, and most likely other people have issue because they they did not set them manually.

I did a full search of my hard drive to find inetmgr.exe and found three copies and none of them would open, when I tried to open them it says "This App cannot Run on your PC" To find a version of the App that works contact the publisher.

Download Manager keeps track of pictures, documents, and other files you download from the web. Files you've downloaded are automatically saved in the Downloads folder. This folder is usually located on the drive where Windows is installed (for example, C:\users\your name\downloads). You can always move downloads from the Downloads folder to other places on your PC.

I did not realize the OP could not connect to the internet. You don't need a network manager to connect to the internet. Don't waste your time looking for a different computer and transferring the files. If you have an Ethernet cable connect the computer directly to the modem and then:

Thanks to vasa1, I failed to see the no internet part. So what you can do is visit Ubuntu Packages, from a machine that has Internet connectivity (friend's, work, etc.) go down to the bottom of the page, and download Network Manager that corresponds to your Ubuntu version and architecture (32, or 64 bit), (in my case its for 13.04 Raring) and once downloaded, take it over to your system, and install it from the downloaded file.

Happened to face same problem. That's how i solved it. I happened to remove the network-manager and yep now I have no internet. So I came to know after that best shot is So but which package I asked myself.

Its obvious it fails, but I came to know what package it was trying to download.e.g in my case if failed while downloading -manager-applet/network-manager-gnome_0.9.8.8-0ubuntu4.3_amd6. So that's it, go to your friend system. Hit this url .It will download deb package.

If your disk is at 100% usage, you may be able to lower disk usage by checking for viruses, resetting your virtual memory, performing a clean boot, or wiping your hard drive. A simple restart might also clear up the issue.

Your device drivers are how your software talks to computer hardware like your disk. Updating your disk driver can help get you below 100 disk usage by allowing your disk to communicate better with the programs it interacts with.

Junk files are temporary files that your computer creates when you perform a task, like browsing the internet or viewing an image. These files are used only once, and if left to accumulate, they quickly build up. Junk files can slow your system, cause performance issues, and contribute to high disk usage.

Untick Automatically manage paging file size for all drivers. Select the [Windows] drive and tick Custom size to set the values for Virtual memory. Click Set, then click OK. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

A clean boot will restart Windows 10 with a limited number of drivers and startup programs. From there, you can reinstall third-party programs one-by-one to see if any of them are causing your system to use 100% of your disk.

If Windows 10 is using 100% of your disk, as a last resort, you can back up or clone the contents of your hard disk. Then, learn to format your hard drive to wipe it completely, before finally reinstalling Windows 10.

High disk usage is more common on older PCs using hard disk drives to run modern software. HDDs are great for storage, but sometimes have trouble with the latest operating systems or games. One advantage of Solid State Drives vs HDDs is that SSDs can go idle more efficiently to reduce disk usage.

When choosing the best free download manager for you, you'll want to start with considering how simple the download process is. Does it happen swiftly in a few steps, or is it an elaborate process that demands file decompressing and extraction?

Media previews and download scheduling are convenient features, but not all download managers offer this. Look out for privacy protection features and check whether the software comes with pesky adware.

Download managers can be especially helpful when you routinely need to download multiple files, especially large files, such as databases or backups. The ability to organize, prioritize, and streamline your downloads process can be invaluable, especially to avoid time-out errors.

You'll need the Java Runtime Environment to run it, and you'll have to be careful when installing it: the installer contains adware, which will be bundled in with the download manager if you don't specifically deselect it.

We tested various free download managers to determine their performance. We looked at the ease of finding and download the manager, the download speeds, interface, learning curve, and privacy features.

1Password makes it easy to generate, store, and autofill passwords for all your online accounts, on all your devices. Because weak and reused passwords are a leading cause of security incidents, using a password manager is an easy way to protect yourself, your family, or your business.

FDM Lite for Windows XP requires less disk space than the regular version by removing things like the torrent client. If a download manager is all you're after, and you need it to run on XP, this is the better choice.

Another great feature of this Internet Download Manager replacement for Mac is the ability to schedule downloads. This is meant for those people whose internet connection are less cluttered at night thus having more bandwidth to work with.

The most impressive thing about JDownloader is also its biggest weakness: JDownloader is open-source. That means testing, updates, and new features are all managed by volunteers. Because of this, JDownloader has a function other download managers lack: the ability to add new features on your own. Without add-ons, JDownloader can speed up, resume, and schedule downloads. It has a speed limiter and can download streaming videos from sites like YouTube.

JDownloader is the only IDM that features web hosting integration. This allows you to send your downloads to a large number of online storage sites instead of saving them to your drive. It also has a customizable interface if you want to rearrange or hide buttons.

Our passwords are the keys to our digital kingdom. Take the guesswork out of creating and remembering complex passwords with our password manager, which can store, auto-fill and even generate unique complex passwords. For added convenience, you can access your shared passwords on your PC and mobile devices with a single account.

Every PC has a built-in place to store files, whether it be a traditional hard disk drive or a solid state drive. But if you're a true Google Drive power user, you can essentially turn your Google Drive account into a new hard drive by adding it to the File Explorer.

Adding Google Drive to your File Explorer lets you easily access your files without ever opening an internet browser. It essentially acts like a new hard drive, which is great for PCs that are running out of space.

Although most people use Google Drive by opening it in an internet browser, Google also offers a downloadable Google Drive app. Installing this app and setting it up will add Google Drive to your File Explorer.

After installing the Google Drive app, open it and click the blue Sign in with browser button to connect your Google Drive account. It'll open an internet browser where you can log into your Google account and confirm that you want to connect everything.

Click on this drive to view your entire Google Drive library inside of the File Explorer window. You can open, move, or delete files in this window, and every change will take effect across your entire library, no matter what device you're using. You'll need to stay connected to the internet to use it.
