The spider hitch knot is a great knot for anglers who need to form a loop in their line in a hurry because it is a very easy knot to tie and it appears to be the strongest of all the quick options (Surgeon & King Sling).
Hey guys, its been too long, and its about time I get back on track with the KoTN series, but first before I do. I wanted to do some Testing on a particular mechanic in Skyrim as it will be heavily used in a KoTN Build and possible RoTA/RoTD Build (Coming Soon).
I was curious about some Spiders in Skyrim. Notably, the Spider Scrolls found all around in Solsthiem and made in White Ridge Barrow (White Ridge Sanctum more specifically), via the Imbuing Chamber. I had completed some tests, which had taken a LONG time, purely due to the Spiders being, well barely known in the Web.
Honesty, if you don't believe me, go ahead and google it. Most people normally brush them off, but some people have made some seriously bad ass builds out of them. On the topic of Tests and Spiders, I was curious about the DPS and HP, among other things. I even found some strange effects, while others are quite amusing to use in combat.
Disclaimer: The tests have been completed on PC, Skyrim 1.9 with no mods or Unofficial Patches. I have only the DLCs, which are Dragonborn, Heathfire and Dawnguard installed and running at the time of the Test. All results have been recorded on Adept Difficulty. Other Notes will be in the specifc 'Sections' of this discussion.
There is a 'slight' chance that either, I have missed read a value or had missed an important piece. The Test is not 100% complete, meaning that there are some things that I have either not tested, or had no idea on how to Test.
Also, I will be assuming that the Reader (you) knows how to create Spider Scrolls in Skyrim. If enough people want, I can add a 'Section' on Creating Spider Scrolls, including the individula Recipes.
Anyone who has seen these guys in Builds or even used them in combat, know how deadly they can be. And how much Damage the Oil Spider can do via the Oil. These buggers are also Tanks/Juggernauts at higher levels, having more HP then all the other Spiders, even with the BP and Illusion Spells.
Warning: To those who haven't used them before, STAY OUT of the Oil Spill, that they excrete. Once set off, it BURNS like stepping in the Fire Pillar in the Sigil Tower in Oblivion or the Lava in the Deadlands in Oblivion. In other words, MASSIVE damage over a short span of time. Just don't try it at all.
I never have really used these guys before this Test, as I didn't know nothing about them. I understood that they effectively turned an Enemy into an Ally, no matter the Level Cap, (unsure if they can 'control' the Undead) I am pretty sure they only work on Humaniod NPCs.
But to successfully use them, YOU must 'throw' it onto an Enemy for it to attach. If you don't or you miss, it will hit the ground and just die. In a splat way, like dropping an egg from a high place.
However, you can cast any Illusion spell, and/or Buffing Poison onto the target (tested with Bandit) and THEN use a Mind Control Spider on the target. The effects of any Illusion Spells/Buffing Poisons will NOT dispel.
I finally have this posted at LAST! I know I am missing tags and images but at the current moment, I am in a bit of a hurry and I will try to fix it when I get back. If any Hosts/Admins need to make any changes let me know and do it.
Thanks Curse, it turned out more that I thought it would be as well. At the start, I was only curious about the HP of the Spiders. And it certainly inspired me, giving me more ideas for the Rune Master and another build.
I started to have a build up of foam board off cuttings after makinging planes and I did know what to do with them and my little brother was wanting me to make some animals from them so here they are.
This is a 25cm/10inches wide spider that I decided to make. It is very easy to make and can be made from anythickness of foam board and posibly even card board. I have created some plans for the spider which are linked below if anyone would like to make one. To make it all you need is some foamboard, glue, acrylic paint and a pair of sciccors or a hobby knife.
I also made a fox that is 74cm/29 inches long. I made it by drawing an outline of a fox on and A2 piece of paper i then put this on the foam voard and cut around it. I then cut two smaller body pieces out and put some supports on the inside to make it wider. This was a one off scratch build so there are no plans for this but it is simple to make.
Phenotype: Ovine hereditary chondrodysplasia (spider lamb syndrome) is associated with skeletal deformities in young sheep. Structural abnormalities observed in afflicted lambs include facial defects, humped or twisted spines, abnormally long legs, bent and/or splayed legs, flattened ribs, and an underdeveloped musculature. While the deformities may not be apparent at birth, they are often visible by 4-6 weeks of age.
2. Use fingers or pliers to grasp approximately 8-10 hairs close to the skin and pull. Pull (do NOT cut) hair strands. Examine the end of hair strands for presence of root bulbs. Hair roots are necessary for DNA testing. If the majority of hair strands lack the root bulbs, discard hair and start again.
Research into the cause of spider lamb syndrome identified a mutation within the gene for fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3). Because the syndrome is a recessive genetic disorder, a lamb is only afflicted if both parents pass on the mutation. Thus, it is critical to identify carriers of the mutation. Carriers (animals with only one copy of the mutation) are structurally normal with no evidence of disease.
FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. -- Two units of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) are testing an upgrade to the Spider munition system here, used to defend perimeters and support offensive ambushes and situational obstacles.
Soldiers with the 39th Brigade Engineer Battalion and 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team are employing the Spider Increment 1A networked munition system along with testers of the U.S. Army Operational Test Command (USAOTC), based at West Fort Hood, Texas.
"Spider is a networked munition system providing an improved networked munition control station and the ability to employ and control current Spider antipersonnel (AP) munitions and demolitions," said Capt. Benjamin Borys, assistant Spider test officer with USAOTC's Maneuver Support and Sustainment Test Directorate (MS2TD).
Instead, Spider Increment 1A is a networked munition package with a "man-in-the-loop" setup, said Borys, using a remote control station to monitor the system, while controlling every munition system networked to it.
MS2TD Test Officer Edward Jagodzinski said, "The 101st Airborne Division has embraced this operational test event placing the 2-BCT in the lead to ensure the Spider Increment 1A, employed by its organic engineers, can support its infantry companies on the battlefield."
He said by the end of the test, the units will have employed the Spider Increment 1A network munition system during defensive and offensive force-on-force engagements each day for 16 straight days of tough, realistic training in the highly vegetative environment of Fort Campbell.
"Since operational testing is about Soldiers and unit missions," said Jagodzinski, "this test event is about making sure the systems developed are -- and remain effective -- in a Soldier's hands and suitable for the environments in which Soldiers and units train and fight."
As the Army's only independent operational tester, USAOTC tests and assesses Army, joint, and multi-service warfighting systems in realistic operational environments, using typical Soldiers to determine whether the systems are effective, suitable, and survivable. USAOTC is required by public law to test major systems before they are fielded to its ultimate customer -- the American Soldier.
The Maneuver Support and Sustainment Test Directorate conducts operational tests of combat engineer, chemical, transportation, military police, quartermaster, ordnance and medical service systems in order to provide our senior leaders with the necessary information to field the highest quality equipment for the warfighter.
There have always been two Wolf spiders living in the base of the Oak tree. Since the launch of the test , they have both been oddly absent from the tree. I thought perhaps I just wasn't catching them in there, but it was consistent through the test.
Found out today why they are missing from the tree, Apparently they are stuck IN the tree. There is another Wolf spider that lives under a leaf right of the entrance to oak lab and when you are up in his spot you can hear the other Wolf spiders arrgo you and see parts of their legs protruding from the base of the tree. Could not get a clear picture of them since they move so fast. But they are in there, generally there is a Lady Bug or two stuck in there as well , with a slew of aphids and weevils.
That could be my problem too because I thought its because I built something over their home. I have not seen many bugs on the liver server as well nor ladybugs. However, on PTS I see many bugs and the wolf spider jumped out of nowhere when I was hitting a web sac.
I have a wolf spider stuck like in the roof/wall innside the cave in the oak tree I'm terrified of spiders, so I like that it can't hurt me. I named him Bob for now.
But in general, most insects seem more or less broken. Not caring when I walk past, not attacking when i attack them, or just run away after i hit them once. And they are appearing in the most bizarre places at times. Like ants on top of grass and stuff
