It's completely unnecessary, and doesn't solve the issue of mission objectives being poorly spaced, or people just being extremely impatient or feeling like they gotta rush to get the mission rewards.
I might consider it if you had to interact with a teleporter to actually warp somewhere else and there were just a few around the map, but being able to instant teleport from literally anywhere to like 50 different pads takes such a steaming dump on so many parts of the game and the players. Environments made to feel pointless, making archwing and especially kdrives even more obsolete. People instantly teleporting, nuking everything and then going to the next objective before the other players have had a chance to even blink their eyes, exacerbating this impatient rush playstyle being forced on people by energy drink obsessed wannabe speedrunners who can't find the solo matchmaking button.
I already made a thread SPECIFICALLY over my frustration of DE's need to placate the super impatient loud minority of players who just want the game to instantly play itself. You're just making the issue worse by adding LITERAL instant teleports that make any other form of movement completely and utterly obsolete. I shouldn't be forced into playing solo if I just want to use a kdrive or archwing (ironically, since even that with its blink is already too much for me) to traverse an OPEN WORLD map.

I understand that this is for new players, but you literally are given a k-drive after unlocking fortuna (which de did not make obvious that the k-drive launcher included a k-drive.) We also have archwings, and getting an archwing launcher also isn't very hard. They could EASILY have just removed the requirements for an archwing launcher in the open world as well, making their decision to add these make less sense.
Also the fact that they nerfed overguard on eximus, which is annoying because the eximus were probably the most interesting out of all of the normal enemies to me after the changes, like I get that people using cc frames might suffer, but they are already spamming shield gate while using a kuva zarr so dealing with the 2 eximus enemies in a solo mission isn't impossible at all. In fact, it allows for more challenge as you can run a less tanky frame for harder eximus enemies or a tanky dps frame for easier enemies. There's a reason why some people use Yareli as a "challenge" (even with her you can just use a sporelacer kitgun to kill everything) and it's because they got bored about the fact nothing in this game feels like a threat anymore (unless you are playing with semi invisible instakill infested poison clouds, but then again, nobody plays infested because they feel like they are being cheapshot instead of actually fighting a challenge.)
Fact is that it does nothing to speed up (or slow down) vets with blink and the command intrinsics to buff it.
Meanwhile it allows players that either don't have archwings (which take some time to get to) or the command intrinsics that buff it (which takes significatnly longer) to at least have a chance of keeping up and at least seeing some of the enemies before the objective is nuked.
If you don't like these just don't use them. They won't have any impact what-so-ever on you since you can just blink over to them in arcwhing faster than someone without archwing/k-drive could get to the objective since they would need to teleport to the nearest point, and then hoof it to the objective, meanwhile archwing would just blink over to the objective near instantly.
And its not like K-drives are any more obsolete than they are currently because archwings can pretty much make someone on k-drive unable to even reach the objective before its time to move to the next one so nothing has really changed there in any meaningful capacity.
"They won't have any impact whatsoever" That's literally where you're wrong, anyone who plays in a public lobby and doesn't decide to warp everywhere instantly is going to be at an inherent disadvantage, and feel forced to also warp to keep up with those who do if they actually want to play the game. It's an issue with archwing, it's an issue with these instant teleports. You can literally activate them from anywhere, and then hop into archwing to blink the last distance instantly. If DE wants people to actually play in public lobbies then they seriously need to stop exacerbating this rush mindset gameplay, which also harms them in the long run cause people blitz through the new content and then whine about the "content drought" they caused through rushing.
People ree out of the stratosphere any time you suggest that the game can be played fast without going at literal warp speed instant transmission speeds, and I'm so tired of DE listening to these people who don't give a single F or just don't know what's best for the longevity of the game, wanting the game to just play and finish itself instantly.
Like I'd be totally fine with there ONLY being a teleport pad next to the extraction gate (and by proxy the mission vendor), because that just helps you extract quicker, it doesn't rush the mission itself.
Well that's you. Can't please every one. I'm sure they are implementing this feature because a number of players requested it. Your Best bet is to not play on public. Trust me specifically farming for something specific and doing endurance runs. Being able to speed run and transport I'm sure many tennos will be happy with this feature.
This isn't really changing much. People after a point already ignore the map with speed+blink with Archwings. No matter what, if you want to intentionally slow yourself down you're going to have to either solo or play the game with people who are at earlier stages, or like minded people. Demanding public squads be designed around your own preference when given your options is simply a case of entitlement.
I think it's weird DE put these around the open world maps. Question becomes how often can we use them? Are they useable during combat? Do we get an invulnerable phase after teleporting in? What happens during host migration? Let alone the bugs and glitches these things are going to cause.
The very first thought I had when I saw these teleport pads was that now DE was free to use more of the map for Bounties
- without it being a pain for newer players who at best have the default K-Drive, if that -
especially in Orb Vallis where lots of places just never get a Bounty area anywhere near them.
