First, do not rely on windows to update your bluetooth driver. Find out what bluetooth card or chip your computer is using and go to that manufacturers website to get their latest updated driver. Once installed it should work.

If you connected to newer first you have to reboot the buds before connecting to older. As the buds default to connecting to last connected first means you have to turn Bluetooth off of last connected.
Hello people, i had this notebook for a while.. it's been 4 months, the model is g4 2049tx and has ralink bluetooth 3.0 adapter from what i have seen in the sys info. It's written as, adapter name - ralink motorola bc8 bluetooth 3.0+ HS Adapter. The bus type is given as USB.
Now, don't provide me any links to download the driver from the g4 page. I had already done that and couldn't find the correct bluetooth driver for my ralink adapter. I could see a bunch of other drivers such as qualcomm atheros 4.0 , broadcom 4.0 and intel BT but not the one i supposedly needed.
As for my device manager, it doesn't show me any missing drivers for my bluetooth.. under the bluetooth there are 2 things shown, microsoft bt enumerator and generic bt adapter. Okay, so i thought the microsoft drivers are already working and bt should also perform.. but from what i see, i can't transfer files in here to other devices.
Go into the Device Manager and open the Bluetooth radio device section. click on the Bluetooth device and then right click it and select properties. Now use the hardware ids tab as seen in the second image below to determine exactly what is installed in your notebook. Post the PCI\VEN information here.
I wish to tell u that the send and receive a file options are seen when i right-click and browse the list from the bluetooth notification icon. The problems i have so far seen are, when i click on receive a file.. my phone doesn't connect to my laptop even though it shows the name. When i click on send a file, nothing is displayed in the white box and the only thing i can do is cancel it.
When i click on add a bluetooth device, it fails to find devices and tells me no devices are found. When i check the wireless tab, i can only see my wifi which can be turned on or off and there is no bluetooth option. My friend's laptop has the option for bluetooth to be turned on or off under wireless, but it's not the same pavilion g4 as mine. It's a sleekbook with win 8 64-bit pre-installed.
I suggest that you read all of the responses to your original post. Make your decision based on the advice given and other resources available to you. My role in the forum is not to tell people what to do. We are here to help and guide. That is our role.
Hi erico, i installed the win 7 driver which u provided and it went smooth. But then the icon in notification area disappears upon restart and can't bring it back. Even though i click on my bluetooth icon in start menu, nothing happens.
The icon in notification area had few options and settings but i haven't tested whether file transfer worked or not. I also happen to not be able to see the bluetooth on/off in windows 8 pc settings menu under wireless option.
It really seems like you will have to either wait for a driver to be produced by Morotola\Ralink or downgrade to Windows 7 if Bluetooth is that important to You. You will have to consider your priorities in terms of bluetooth. I took a look at the currently available bluetooth dongles and have not seen one certified for Windows 8 as of this date.
You are right erico... all i can do is either revert back to using windows 7 or calmly wait for ralink motorola to release a new windows 8 driver for my piece of hardware. I don't want to go back to win 7 because right now win 8 is really good and it's officially activated too, since i paid a lot for the license.
The best possible thing i can do to make my bluetooth work asap is change the module possibly to broadcom by paying a little more at the service center. I heard few ppl got it done that way, but once again i'm not gonna be doing this atleast for now. I will still have the ralink module and wait for it to release win 8 compatible driver.
In that microsoft discussion, one person said he got bluetooth to work ... especially sending and receiving files, while other devices detect the laptop.. on a fresh install of windows 8 and let microsoft drivers do the work. So, he said the generic bluetooth adapter worked fine and that he needn't had to download any more specific drivers. It's nearly the same in my case, I got this laptop with pre-installed dos and then I have installed windows 8, a fresh copy over dos.
I have repeatedly connected my Life Q20 Headphones to Windows using my bluetooth dongle. Windows even recognizes it and connects. However, no sound comes through and the Headphones never show up as an option in the Sound Settings.
I have disconnected and forgotten the headphones, and then re connected them. I have also installed this driver ( -firmware). I have also tried resetting as said on this thread (Cant pair headphones Life Q20 with Windows 10).
None of these things worked. Is there a solution? I have been using the headphones wired through an AUX cable for the past couple of months and they have worked flawlessly, but it is right now with this bluetooth issue that I am facing a problem for the first time.
Most threads on similar issues has the issue as their Bluetooth driver. Update the Bluetooth driver and it may resolve it. There was ome person that stated that had to update it with a generic Bluetooth driver.
So I tried installing a bluetooth driver through a link ( -Wireless-Bluetooth-Driver-for-Windows-10-64-bit-for-Intel-NUC) then a straight update from Bluetooth Devices in the Control Panel. Neither solution has worked.
After the headphones get connected, there is a 10 second period where they stay connected (but my sound control panel cannot find them to use) and then they automatically disconnect and refuse to connect again.
Reset the headphones and then pair with the PC, that fixes the issue most times. If not then delete all pairings and turn all Bluetooth off of all other devices it was paired with, then reset then pair just with the PC.

thx again @The_Professor even after following above mentioned links my problem is not solved.
I have disabled bluetooth device as and even tried disabling other devices as suggested in that video but in vain.

Well i got bluetooth dongle now and Q10 is working fine without any issues.
It was frustrating going all through those steps posted in different forums and not getting result.
thx you all of you and these forums who are there to help.
and thx again @The_Professor
The lack of a robust set of documentation on steps, decision tree, process of elimination, is the ideal answer. Perhaps in some situations a BT dongle is the answer, well that should be known chipsets to not work.
I recently purchased an early 2015 13" Macbook Pro in which I have installed the Windows 10 technical preview on through Boot Camp Assistant. The initial build that I installed was 10162 and I had no issues installing the OS or the Boot Camp drivers. I had bluetooth connectivity with my Magic Mouse and all was well. Yesterday I updated Windows 10 to build 10166 and now Windows doesn't recognize the Bluetooth chipset. I tried running the troubleshooting tool in Windows and it says no driver could be found online. I'm assuming that there was a change from build 10162 and 10166 that caused this to happen and I guess I'll have to wait for Apple to update the Bluetooth Boot Camp drivers after the actual release of Windows 10. The drivers for the WiFi, camera, trackpad, etc... all seem to be working fine, it's just the Bluetooth driver that I seem to be having a problem with. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a resolution?
I have a mid 2014 MBP 15" running Windows 10 Build 10240 under Boot Camp 5.1.5640. I upgraded to Windows 10 directly from Windows 8.1 x64. I too cannot get Bluetooth to work, and am hopeful that Apple will address this with a newer Boot Camp version following the official release of Windows 10.
This configuration is merely a "sandbox" for me, as I prefer to work under OS X. However, I know some people who are wanting to run Windows 10 natively on Apple hardware (they've never latched on to OS X despite several attempts), and this issue is a potential show-stopper.
Thank you Loner; I was not able to get the Apple Boot Camp Bluetooth driver to work, but that generic Bluetooth Driver Installer mentioned in that thread did. Hopefully we won't need to use such workarounds in the relatively near future.
For the record, I've installed the released version of Windows 10 "fresh" (not an upgrade) via Boot Camp on two different MBPs now, and haven't had any Bluetooth problems...didn't need to use the third-party tool. So perhaps only upgrades are plagued by this?
I have a Late 2013 MB Pro, same bluetooth problem. I have tried all the different drives helpful people have posted. No joy. And since windows cannot find a driver on a net search either, I do not think it has anything to do with how the install is done. If Microsoft had access to a working driver the search would find it.
