Hello everyone,

I've just discovered the Distance software and I'm trying to learn how it works, particularly for determining transects. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at the very first step due to a data formatting issue when defining the study area.

If I use the example data available in the software manual, in the "Study Area" section, and double-click on "polygon," then copy/paste the coordinates of the study area, I get an error message: "257 lines of input were not of the format 'number tab number' and so were treated as indicating separators between parts of multi-part shape." When I click OK, I can see there's an issue because the x and y coordinates are not entered, and instead I see ".....Separator....".

I also tried using the coordinates for my own project in a .txt format, with the coordinates in DMS (Degrees, Minutes, Seconds), but it was also unsuccessful...

Can anyone help me with this? Can you send me an example of GPS coordinates in the format suitable for Distance ?

Thank you,

Océane
