POLICE INTEND TO KEEP GREEN VALLEY FESTIVAL SAFE

In light of the recent acts of violence in the Cayon area, the police wish to allay any public fears about the safety of the Green Valley Festival.  A strong security plan with an intelligence and surveillance component has been developed for the event.  In addition, a traffic management plan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic has also been developed.  A strong contingent of uniformed officers will also be present at the events to ensure the safety of patrons.  As an additional safety measure the police are advocating the use of plastic cups.  Glass bottles will therefore not be permitted at public events.  The police are appealing for the cooperation of the public in the execution of any security measure, including stop and search, as these measures are geared towards public safety.
