Hello,

I'm working on revamping the Disqus module for Drupal. Specifically, I
am looking to provide good support for exporting/importing comments.
There are currently two big blockers to people using Disqus on Drupal
sites:

1. It's not currently possible to export all Drupal comments to Disqus
2. Once comments are imported into Disqus, there's no way to have them
sync back to Drupal for SEO benefits of displaying comments server-
side (but hidden with CSS)

I've been working on this for a couple months now, but have hit a
stumbling block when I tried integrating the module with the new OAuth
authentication. The only reason I need to authenticate a user is for
the ability to create threads via the API, which requires
authentication, which is unfortunate!

Anyway, I'm posting this because I'd like to get the opinion of Disqus
developers. I've been back and forth with he...@disqus.com regarding
this, but they eventually directed me to come here and post about it.

For weeks and weeks, I was unable to create anonymous posts using the
API and was getting the error "This application does not have access
to create anonymous posts". I tried passing a public key, secret key,
and both, but always got an error. Disqus help said "We currently
don't support anonymous posting for external applications."

With that information, is it simply not possible for me to export
comments to Disqus using the API?

NOTE: I tried again after a week or so, and it seems to work now ?? I
have to pass my secret key... I got through a hundred comments or so
then started getting error code #15 "There was internal server error
while processing your request" over and over
