As an avid vaper, few things bring me more joy than testing out beautifully-designed devices that also deliver satisfying vape experiences. The Innokin Klypse Mecha pod kit is one such rarity that fuses creative artistry with robust performance.

Innokin is already renowned for its quality vaping gear, but they have outdone themselves with the Klypse Mecha. Beyond its smooth vape capabilities, the Mecha exemplifies a meticulous attention to detail that makes this pod kit a fascinating work of art.

Striking “Watchmaker” Aesthetic Immediately Stands Out

My first impressions upon unboxing the Mecha were sheer awe. Innokin has deviated from their trademark eco-friendly packaging and instead gone for a sleek box that foreshadows the visual pleasures within.

Nestled inside is the Klypse Mecha device cradled in a protective card holder. And upon retrieving this miniature masterpiece, I found myself captivated by Innokin’s “watchmaker” design concept.

A durable zinc alloy frame encases side panels that replicate an ornate watch interior. Intricate detailing of cogs, gears, and clock parts are etched across these panels for a pseudo three-dimensional effect. The craftsmanship makes it appear as if you're peering directly into an analog timepiece.

What leaves me even more spellbound is realizing none of these components actually move or connect to any functional aspect of the vape. Yet, they are painstakingly modeled after real watch machinery. This fusion of imaginative art direction with exceptional manufacturing prowess is why Innokin stands leagues ahead.

And the visual brilliance doesn’t stop there. A rounded OLED screen seamlessly integrates into one of the faux watch dials when inactive. Laser etched patterns adorn the battery cover for extra flair.

Size-wise, the Mecha hits a sweet spot at 92mm tall and 44mm wide with gently curved edges. Substantial yet not overly bulky thanks to its 105g weight.

Simply put, never have I gandered upon a vape so alluring from a design perspective. The Klypse Mecha is fit to be displayed as an avant-garde museum piece!

Intuitive Controls and Handy Adjustability

Beyond sheer aesthetics, the Mecha backs its style with intuitive controls and customization potential. A multifunction dial along the face serves as the primary button to turn the device on/off and navigate settings.

The protruding dial makes accidental pocket presses a minor issue. However, I appreciate how deliberately it must be rotated to prevent mistaken adjustments. And a handy three-click lock button improves pocketability and portability.

An adjustable airflow slider on the side meshes perfectly with the durable exterior. It glides smoothly across an ample spectrum from a tight MTL draw all the way to airier DTL inhales. I found my sweet spot around halfway. But loosening to the max setting still produced pleasantly saturated flavor.

These intuitive controls and easy adjustability allow both beginner and advanced users alike to fine-tune the Mecha to their preferences with negligible effort.

Pods Loaded with Coil Choices and Seamless Performance

While stunning on the outside, pod kit performance ultimately comes down to the coil options and e-liquid delivery. Once again, Innokin equips vapers with choice.

The 2ml Klypse pods included in the kit feature 0.6Ω and 1.2Ω resistances to satisfy a range of vaping needs. And the pod collection offers 0.8Ω and 1.7Ω alternatives for even more flexibility. Not to mention cross-compatibility with the full Klypse pod ecosystem and prefilled flavor pods.

Despite housing most of each pod internally, the strong magnets prevent rattling while ensuring secure attachment. E-liquid levels prove trickier to monitor with the concealed design. However, easy side-filling with generous ports minimizes potential mess. And I eventually learned to estimate my juice by runtime.

Both bundled coils wicked efficiently across 50PG/50VG freebase and nic salts without dry hits or leaks. The 0.6Ω offered punchier throat hits while the 1.2Ω focused flavors towards the tail-end of exhales at lower wattages. But the overall consistency remained impressive whichever pod installed.

While subjective, I found the 0.6Ω kanthal coils presented bolder e-liquid flavors at higher wattages. But even dialing the 1.2Ω pod down to 11W elicited pleasant tastes albeit slightly muted compared to its looser sibling. Given the longevity of these coils too, Innokin gets high marks for pod performance.

Smart Interface and Battery Life Enhance Functionality

Once immersed in the gorgeous aesthetics, the Mecha’s smooth functionality further heightens its versatility as an exceptional pod device.

An advanced OLED interface delivers key vaping data like voltage, resistance, and battery life in a straightforward fashion. More than just looks, this circular screen proves easy to navigate using the click dial. Settings remain basic yet provide the essential customization tools needed.

My favorite feature is the “smart variable wattage” function. Simply insert a pod, and the appropriate power range automatically adjusts without fussing with settings. This foolproof design prevents premature coil burnout. But manual adjustments through 18W give experienced vapers extra control.

Battery life also appears well-balanced in the context of a 900mAh pod vape. I squeezed nearly 3ml of juice at the max 18W on the 0.6Ω coil before recharging. And got over 2 full pods when dialing wattage down slightly. Not chart-topping numbers but enough for a full day of moderate MTL or semi-restricted DTL puffing.

Innokin does right by pairing such dazzling design queues with a straightforward yet customizable interface. Combined with balanced battery efficiency given the size, the Klypse Mecha reveals itself as way more than a pretty pod mod.

Final Impressions: Artistry Fuses Seamlessly with Performance

Very rarely does a vape device entrance me both visually and functionally from box opening to the final puff. Innokin has nailed this elusive sweet spot with the Klypse Mecha.

As a frequent pod user, I appreciate the extensive coil options that cater to direct lung and mouth-to-lung inhales alike at a spectrum of power tuning. Smart wattage takes the guesswork out while manual adjustments give experienced vapers more sway. Topped off with quality construction and leak-resistant pods that easily swap, it has become my daily pod companion.

But above all, I keep returning to admire the Mecha’s sheer beauty as a display-worthy objet d'art that symbolizes Innokin’s knack for innovation. It will retain shelf space in my vape collection if for design alone.

Yet somehow in sculpting a functional piece of mechanical art, Innokin has also loaded it with customizability and consistent performance worthy of a high-end pod kit. Flavor and airflow options flex enough muscle for discerning vapers without alienating beginners. No matter your experience level, I wholeheartedly recommend the Klypse Mecha.
