Currently, the plugin (in HTML output) uses the author's name on the
service, so if you have different names on different services you will see
different names (assuming you do not have names set to hide). I've been
thinking of changing this to display the name on the WordPress user account associated
with the actionstream.

Yes, I think that makes sense.

That's also a feature of Twitter Tools and Tweet Import.

It would be much cleaner and a much more consistent approach for the preferred username of the account to be used for imported feeds.

This probably should be optional though, in case the Activity Stream represents a collection of people (like a planet blog).
