Hello all,

i wanted to ask, if it is possible to use more than one char as a identifier in setmix like setmix('_%','EXP'). The reason is, that it is not so easy to exclude 4 charaters form the usage in free textfields that i wanted give the user. or is mixalf working as a switch, so i can just activate the sequence finding for selected messag() calls?

thank you in advance!
Michael

Hi Michael,

no, this is not possible. The control characters for plotting indices and exponents are single
characters.  You can disable them, or replace the default control characters by your own
characters, but that's all. If you want to use more characters than a single character, you have
to process the string by yourself and replace the sequence of characters by a single control
character before passing the string to Dislin.

With best regards,

Helmut
