I thought this thread looked familiar, then realized my reply below
on 12/26 went privately to Ned instead of to the group address.
Sorry about that, Geoff...

Enspire dropped support for the PianoSoft Plus Audio format, I
suppose because the control unit no longer includes a CD player, so
those WAV files won't play as they are. It's analogous to how
Yamaha also dropped support for ESEQ files due to the control unit
no longer including a floppy drive.
For WAV files of solo piano material in PianoSoft Plus Audio format,
your best bet is to find the original MIDI files and put those on
the USB drive instead of the encoded versions (due to the encoding
process being slightly lossy and the WAV files being needlessly
HUGE).
For WAV files of PianoSoft Plus Audio material with accompaniment,
the material needs to be converted from PianoSoft Plus Audio format
(stereo WAV file with piano control signal one channel and monaural
accompaniment on the other) to the PianoSoft Audio format supported
by Enspire (MIDI files plus adjacent stereo WAV or MP3 files of the
accompaniment).
Yamaha has a project underway to convert their PianoSoft Plus Audio
material to PianoSoft Audio format. I've heard some Disklavier
owners have been able to request and obtain the equivalent PianoSoft
Audio versions of their PianoSoft Plus Audio CD through Yamaha Corp.
of America, but I don't think there's an official process in place
for that yet.
Technically, it would be possible to convert the WAV files you have
directly to MID/WAV or MID/MP3 pairs, but the software to do that is
not publicly available, and the results would be better if Yamaha is
able to go back to the stereo accompaniment audio instead of using
the mono accompaniment audio from the released CDs.
