I'd value the group's views on what might be causing the hum evident from my Disklavier Mark IV's external speakers and how I should eliminate it.

A few months ago, with the group's expert advice, I replaced my Disklavier's hard drive with a solid state drive, so I don't think the hum is coming from a failing hard drive.

The hum is especially evident from the speaker creating the left side audio (although I can hear a bit of it on the right side, too). And I hear the hum when whatever speakers I've connected, i.e., both the powered Yamaha MSP3D (original equipment), or passive speakers with an external amplifier.

Many thanks,

Lloyd Randolph

Does the hum stop if you unplug the audio cables?
