Geoff brought to my attention that DKVBrowser doesn't expose the MIDI settings that are available via the PRC-100 remote.  I realized that I somehow never exposed *any* of the "Setup" menus.

There are about 11 pages of "stuff" that would need to be implemented.  This isn't a small amount of work, but I'm inclined to do it since our PRC-100 remotes can't be long for this world.

However, if no one cares, I'm sure I could find something better to do with my time.  DKVBrowser has no telemetry to speak of, so I have no clue if anyone at all even runs it anymore, so I thought I'd ask here.

Thoughts?
Happy New Year to you all,
-Kevin

Hi Kevin

Happy New year to you and the rest of the Group.    I still use your programme when playing my MKlV.   It’s certainly satisfactory to me for my needs.

Thanks

Owen

Kevin

As I mentioned, the only thing I use the PRC-100 for is to set the volume with a visual indication and to select the MIDI in port to either USB or MIDI.  That’s the reason I don’t use DKVBrowser , as the wireless setups I use require USB input for PC and MIDI input for iPad.

Perhaps you could just start with the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT screens.  When the PRC-100s fail, everyone will have to use an updated DKVBrowser just to be able to get to some basic settings.  I think the project would be worthwhile.  I’m hoping my Mark IV will last another 20 years and it’s unlikely the PCR-100 will still be functional by then.

Kind regards

Geoff

Hi Kevin,

I used it for many years, and would love to continue to use it. It got very complicated trying to drag it along… I had a dedicated Windows XP VM I was running on my Mac, completely isolated because I can imagine how many security holes XP and a 20-year-old Java would have… but which worked ok until I had to migrate from Intel to M1. There’s a way to get XP VMs with Apple chips, but it works differently and I wasn’t able to get DKVBrowser going. Would sure love to, though… if you wind up ever porting it to modern day, I assure you you’d have at least one user. :)

Happy New Year,

…..HK

It's been running on modern operating systems for about 2 years now.  I assume you aren't a member of the Google group?

Let me know if you need any assistance in getting this running.  The more users, the better!
