Building up friendships and romance in The Sims 4 can be a bit of a grind, so players often turn to cheating. Thankfully the following cheats should work for both PC/Mac as well as the Playstation 4 and Xbox Consoles. You've got to get the syntax right, but I'm here to help.Enable Cheats
Press Control + Shift + C to open the cheat console, a small command line in the top left corner of the screen. On console, you press all four triggers (L1/L2+R1/R2) to do this.
Once this is open, you just need to type the commands and press enter. We will use the ModifyRelationship YourSimFirstname YourSimLastname Sim2Firstname Sims2LastName # Relationship_Type - see below for explanations. Testing Cheats can be off for these but you may try turning them on if you have trouble.
Friends and Enemies CheatFor examples on using this, I have two Sims here. My Sim's name is Ashley Payne, the target is Yuki Behr. So to make them enemies, I'd use ModifyRelationship Ashley Payne Yuki Behr -100 LTR_Friendship_Main and I'll get this result, a fully red friendship bar - true enemies:
If I wanted to then bring them out of the hole, I'd need to add 200 to it, because it's negative. 100 would do if they're neutral, but to max it out I'll use ModifyRelationship Ashley Payne Yuki Behr 200 LTR_Friendship_Main.
This one's useful if you quickly want a boyfriend or girlfriend or just to woohoo with another Sim to Try for Baby. In order to max out their romance bar, I'd use ModifyRelationship Ashley Payne Yuki Behr 100 LTR_Romance_Main. Remember, romance can go negative, too! For example, with -100 romance and -100 friendship, two Sims are total opposites. If they have a positive romance but negative friendship, they can be labeled "Enemies with Benefits". Based on all this, you should have no trouble cheating the friendship with a pet. If the dog's name was Duke EatsTheGarbage I'd use ModifyRelationship Ashley Payne Duke EatsTheGarbage 100 LTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_Main.
I know this is a late comment, it being a year later. But I couldn't get cheats to work either. So instead of typing testingcheats true in the box I typed testingcheats yes and it worked like a charm. I know 2020 was a terribly awful year for many. I hope your situation gets better in 2021. I don't think any of the relationship cheats work unless the sim has a first name and a last name. So I'd take your pet into CAS first and give them a full name. If the pet isn't in your household you'll need to use the cheat 'cas.fulleditmode'
I'm so stuck. I got engaged to a ghost, removed them from the household, then tried to break-up but she left first and hasn't come back.I can't invite her over, or on a date. I tried clearing marriages, using the modifyrelationship cheat to set the romance score to -100, hoping she would break up with me. No luck. Any cheats on PC to make a sim single, to break-up, or to cancel an engagement? I want my sim to marry, but can't until I fix this.

Wrong, you decrease/increase by the amount in the cheat code. I wanted to set the romance score to 74, down from 100, so that I could try to get the soulmate status via a normal romantic interaction (getting to 75+).

I had an accidental poly household. I had 6 single sims and they NEVER got upset when the others flirted with who they were kinda paired up with. The eco life NAP free love was on and I didn't know (it ruined the plot challenge for me but may work for you as an option as mine weren't meant to be poly)
Player is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Serial Romantic aspiration. Sims with this trait will never cause another Sim to get jealous of their actions, such as using a Romantic-type interaction on a different Sim in front of their spouse. Note that Sims with the Player trait can themselves still feel jealousy (unless the Sim who would make them jealous also has the Player trait).
