File Converter from Zamzar is a simple tool which allows you to convert files using the context menu in your file explorer. It supports 100's of different formats, including documents, images, audio, video and more. And it's FREE to download and convert your first 25 files!

The software which powers File Converter has been under development since 2006 - hundreds of hours have been put into developing, refining and tuning the application with the goal of making the conversion of files an easy task for everyone.

I've been trying to convert entire folders of files using ffmpeg for a long time now. I've searched the web, found various answers, but none that helped me. Currently I'm using multiple instances of ffmpeg to convert more than one file at a time. But it's very time consuming and annoying to type in everything all the time, even with copy/paste.

In order to make ffmpeg batch encoding easier for Windows users, I developed this free open-source application using .NET/C#. I would like to include it here as an addtional choice to make things easier for some Windows users who may not be so familiar with command-line operation.

I've hit a bit of a snag and could really use some help. I've got a bunch of photos in HEIC format, and I'm struggling to view heic files on Windows 10 (and potentially Windows 11) setup. It seems like my current setup just isn't cutting it for these types of files. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for a best HEIC viewer that's compatible with Windows 10 or 11? I'm looking for something straightforward and user-friendly since I'm not exactly a tech wizard. Any advice or suggestions would be super appreciated. Thanks in advance!

After a bit of research and trying out a few different applications, I found a couple of solutions that worked well for me. First, I discovered that Microsoft actually offers a HEIC file extension support in the Microsoft Store, which, once installed, it seems doesn't allow me to view HEIC files directly in the Windows Photos app, I don't why.

I also tried out a third-party app called TunesBro HEIC converter. It not only let me view HEIC files seamlessly but also offered the option to convert them to JPG if needed. This was super handy for sharing photos with friends who couldn't view HEIC files or for uploading to websites that only accept JPG.

Google Photos is a popular photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. It allows users to upload, share, and manage their photos and videos from any device. It supports a wide range of photo and video formats, including the High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIC). HEIC is a format used by Apple's iOS devices for storing high-quality images in smaller file sizes compared to traditional formats like JPEG. However, HEIC is not as widely supported on non-Apple platforms, which can create challenges when sharing or viewing these files.

Once uploaded, Google Photos automatically converts HEIC files to a compatible format for easy viewing across all devices. Simply click or tap on an image to view it. You can also use Google Photos' editing tools to enhance your images.

Encouraged by that success, I also decided to give TunesBro HEIC Converter a shot, especially since I often need to convert photos for sharing with friends and family or for use on websites. The ability to easily convert HEIC files to JPG has been a game changer for me. It's incredibly user-friendly and the batch conversion feature has saved me so much time.

With file extensions visible, you can start changing file types by renaming the file and replacing the old extension with the new extension. For instance, replacing file.txt with file.doc would turn a TXT text file to a Word document in the older DOC format. As the file contains text, Word should be able to understand and open it.

For instance, searching for convert x to y (replacing x with the original file type and y with the new file type you want to use) should provide you with a list of potential results.

Once you know how to change file types in Windows 10, you can deal with software conflicts as they occur. You can also safely convert files from one type to another, from music file conversions on your PC to converting PDFs to Google Docs online. If the file is in a similar format, you can even try renaming the file extension itself.

Surprisingly, the photos taken on my iPhone 13 Pro are saved in .heic format when I connected it to my Windows 11 PC and plan to edit some of them in Photoshop. I have roughly 1000 images on iPhone and would love to learn a fast way to bulk convert .heic to jpg on my PC.

[Update] Still receive notification from this thread from time to time. Actually, I installed a few heic converters, the one that finally worked is TunesBro HEIC Converter, suggested by Mohamed857. Here is the step-by-step tutorial (external link removed by moderator) you can check out.

CloudConvert is a powerful online file conversion service that supports over 200 different file formats, including HEIC, JPG, and more. It allows users to convert files without installing any software on their computer, making it a convenient solution for various file conversion needs. The platform is designed with an easy-to-use interface, enabling users to quickly convert files without any prior technical knowledge.

Please be cautious when using online converters, as uploading personal or sensitive images to third-party websites might pose privacy risks. Also, the conversion speed may depend on your internet connection and the size of the files being converted.

However, instead of importing your photos as HEIC and then converting them on your PC, you should be able to import them directly as JPG (having the phone convert them upon transfer). For this, change the settings on the iPhone. I have it in French but in English the option in the camera settings should be named something like "Transfer to Mac or PC" and then a choice between Original file (=HEIC) and Automatic (=HEIC when transferring to a Mac and JPG in other cases).

So, I recently got myself one of those fancy new iPhones, and it comes with this nifty HEIC photo format. It's all cool for saving space, but when it comes to sharing pics with friends who aren't on Team Apple, well, that's a bit of a pickle.

1. The main reason I got this software was to convert my HEIC photos to JPEG. All I had to do was drag and drop the HEIC files into the program, select the output format (JPEG, in my case), and click the "Convert" button. It was that simple. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the software converted my photos. Even when dealing with a batch of images, it didn't take long at all. This was a huge time-saver for me.

I'd definitely recommend giving TunesBro HEIC Converter a try, it solved the compatibility issue I had with HEIC photos and made sharing images a breeze. Plus, the software was so user-friendly that I didn't feel like I needed to be a tech guru to use it effectively.

Certainly! I also used TunesBro HEIC Converter to change lots of .heic image to PNG, it saved the day when I found myself stuck with HEIC format photos on my iPhone, causing compatibility headaches with non-Apple devices. Its hassle-free installation and user-friendly interface made converting HEIC to JPEG a breeze, preserving image quality while delivering lightning-fast results.

@HolawayStay away from TunesBro HEIC Converter. It works fine if you are converting a couple dozen photos, but I needed to convert a couple thousand. You can't convert more than around 80 without the application locking up. There is a terrible memory leak so have each tiny batch of conversion, you have to restart the application because it never releases memory. Poorly written and not user friendly at all.

The benefit of converting JPG to PDF files is that a PDF can contain multiple pages of images, whereas if you were sending various pictures, you would need to send multiple files instead of just one. PDF files can contain a limitless number of pages. This allows you to share one PDF with many images, making it much easier to send to others.

PDFs do not lose quality or size, and they retain the pixels and format of the image. When you convert JPG to a PDF file, it will retain the same quality of the image after the conversion process without any quality loss. That is why it is recommended to convert

Once you convert your image file, you can either print it as a PDF or share it with others, knowing that your image will display correctly whether the recipient opens it on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device. This file format is highly customizable, so you can add comments or annotations, too.

Hello I am trying to work on my after effects project for school. My school uses macs, but I use a windows laptop and I forgot to save my file to be compatible with my computer and now I am getting an error message as shown in this image.

Correction: your project file is version 16 (the currwent version) not 15.

I'm only going by your own comment that your own system is version 14. Please post a screen grab of the Creative Cloud CC application manager with After Effects visible.
