to Dish Network Discussion
Hi: We had an installer come out yesterday to inform us there are too
many trees. I have DirectTV already, but that's just a one-bird dish.
Actually, when DirectTV came out years ago, they said the same thing,
"Too many trees". I had a one LNB system then and wanted a dual, for
another TV.. He said it wouldn't work, so I picked up the old dish,
sat it in the top of a plastic garbage can, pointed it in the right
direction, and I had a fine signal in two minutes!.
I told him how I used "Starry Night" on the computer to find when the
moon would line-up with the dish, so then I could 'see' where the bird
was and find the best place. A bright star will work, too.
I guess for DIsh Network, at least now, there are several 'birds' the
dish needs to see.
Does anyone know the names/locations of these satellites? Also, for my
single hole in the woods that I can see through, isn't there a
multiple-dish option to place each dish in it's best location?
Thanks!
Harry
