Paintthe Squares Number Charts is an interactive way to explore number patterns such as odd and even numbers, counting in multiples from times tables and ten more and ten less. We have added more paint options such as splats and also extra grids which include negative numbers and decimals. The resource is designed primarily for use on interactive whiteboards.

There are various sized grids, all of which are configurable. The largest goes up to 120. Squares can be painted by clicking on the squares and numbers can be hidden either individually or completely. The start number can be varied and the whole grid flipped to present the numbers differently if required. There are puzzles on all the grids and these offer varying degrees of challenge. Their purpose is to promote understanding of number series.

In 1892, Mondrian entered the Academy for Fine Art in Amsterdam as a qualified teacher. While teaching at the academy he also practiced his painting. Most of his paintings from this period were of landscapes. These pastoral images of Holland included fields, cows and windmills. These paintings were representational, and show the influence that the pointillist (painting with dots) and fauvist (vivid colors) movements had on him.

I have always loved the vintage European look, so when we decided to turn part of our garage into a home office, I decided it was the perfect chance to add a classic checkerboard pattern. Checkerboard flooring is timeless and has been around in the design world for many decades, even a popular choice in the gilded age! In modern design, it is a flooring style used by designers like Shea McGee.

We have painted concrete before and you can see our big driveway project HERE. I was confident that painting the concrete would be a durable choice. Similarly, to paint concrete floors would save us a lot of money too!

However, you know I will never lie to you. The checkerboard pattern was a whole beast of its own. To be honest, I would have given up, but my husband was determined to conquer the confusion.

After reading many tutorials, watching videos, and experimenting, he figured out a formula that actually works and takes you from the very start to the finish. After that, it just took some time and elbow grease. He will give you all the details but we want you to know a few things:

The first row for me was the most challenging. I chose to split the first diamond in half on the middle line, because I wanted full diamonds on the edges. You could reverse this, though if you wanted.

I just love diamonds on the porch, it gives the feeling of spaciousness and whimsy and just makes a nice statement under rugs. So, I took the time and effort to add diamonds to my new porch and boy, am I in love all over again!

I began tracing the first square with pencil marks, then moved the template out and kept marking until I had one corner of the porch all covered with pencil lines. As long as you keep lining up your sides and keep the corners fairly straight, you can just keep moving the template out and marking all the pencil lines. That part comes together pretty fast. Starting in the middle also keeps your squares pretty even all around the edges of the room.

I would caution here to probably only do one row at a time with this method as it does make you go back and retape some squares to move things along faster. I did make it all work even if I did have to go back and tape the edges of some of my squares in order to paint them. Work in sections and get both coats painted before you rip up the tape. It starts to dry fast so you can keep working a row at a time until you get one section done.

At the end of day 2, I took a small craft brush with my white paint and went back and touched up any areas that were really standing out. Once you touch up with white, things look really good then. You can be as particular as you want at this point, touching up all over. When you stand back and look at the finish, it will look fantastic and no one will see all those little imperfections.

It looks fabulous Rhoda. I was inspired by some striped wallpaper in a house I am going to feature soon. I decided I may paint some horizontal wide stripes in my entrance and hallway but wondering how on earth I can keep the tapes straight when running such long pieces down the hallway. Vertical stripes might be easier for me but I wanted to give the appearance of a longer hallway and thought it would be a little different.

The most common colors used for a chess/checker board are black and white. However, you can choose any two contrasting colors that you prefer. It is important to make sure that the colors you choose have a good contrast to allow for easy gameplay.

A standard chess board usually has 64 squares, with each square measuring 2.25 inches. This makes the overall dimensions of the board about 18.5 inches by 18.5 inches. However, you can adjust the dimensions to your preference as long as the squares remain equal in size.

For a durable and long-lasting board, it is recommended to use acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is water-resistant and can withstand wear and tear from regular gameplay. It also comes in a wide variety of colors, making it easy to find the perfect shades for your board.

To create a perfect grid, you can use a ruler and a pencil to measure and mark the lines on the board. Another option is to use painter's tape to create the grid lines. This will give you clean and straight lines and make it easier to paint the squares.

The best technique for painting a chess/checker board is to first paint the entire board with one color and let it dry completely. Then, use tape to create the grid lines and paint the alternate squares with the second color. Remove the tape while the paint is still wet for clean lines. Let the paint dry completely before using the board for gameplay.

Improve your color sense with these coloring games for kids! Put the right color in the bucket and start painting the squares in those colors. These painting games are an exciting way for kids to learn colors through coding.

This space has been the bane of my existence for awhile. And with summer coming up, we wanted to get our patio ready. We got some quotes from contractors, and cue dramatic music, everything cost thousands of dollars. My husband and I laughed and laughed, and then we decided I would paint it instead. Yay, for me.

Sweep up the patio and power wash that sucker. This is the power washer I used, and highly recommend. And while this is not a necessary step, if you have cracks, you can use this concrete crack sealant to smooth out the concrete. Look how much cleaner it looked already!

I used this sealer, and FYI you need to use a very thin coat. I used the same roller brush as I did for the paint, and applied a thin layer. I waited till the next day and did one last coat. You then need to wait 72 hours before you can place furniture on it. Now pat yourself on the back because you are done!

Sometimes you have an overly exuberant carpet installer like we did upstairs at the farmhouse where they put tack strips down the middle of the room in rows and they run across the middle of the floor. That makes the job much more challenging. With that room, we actually called in a professional to help and it made it easier.

The floor in Kentucky held up for almost eleven years and still looked almost exactly like this when we moved out. We did reseal the high traffic areas after about five years to keep the checkerboard pattern even.

I recently decided to make the leap and paint our hardwood floors white (yes I did !) in our guest room. Our house was built in 1932 and the wood in that room was so bad that I knew I'd never spend the money to have it sanded and re-stained...besides, I LOVE the farmhouse look of painted floors! I absolutely love how they turned out.I got inspired and decided to paint my kitchen floors white as well, but they are vinyl. I still love the look, but oh.my.word, the kitchen is such a high traffic area and they get dirty from the dog SO fast that I have to mop them a couple of times a day--and who's got time for that?! So I think I'm going to try putting the SW 7006 over the existing paint since you said it's dirt resistant. I've been wondering if I were to seal it if that would help keep the dirt from not showing? Our local store was out of floor paint when I bought it, so I went with a different brand, and it's just not doin' the job. In the meantime, the dog has been banned from the kitchen! Hahaha!

Please make sure that it is plywood and not composite board! The composite (chip) board will swell when it gets wet so there's no point in painting it. Unfortunately, that is what is under my house's carpet.

With its mesmerizing, colorful concentric circles inside squares, this paint-by-numbers kit challenges the conventional perception of geometry and space. Reinterpret Kandinsky's groundbreaking artwork while enhancing your painting skills. Perfect for abstract art enthusiasts and painters of all experience levels.

Advanced: For those who love detail! These kits feature tiny sections for an intricate finish and may take two weeks or more to complete. Prepare for a stunningly detailed masterpiece!

For my art homework on color theory, we have to paint squares in colors of our choice, and place them next to each other in our work book as we see fit.

I am the only student painting in oils, and I want to be able to move these squares about, to see how different shades and colors interact with and affect each other.

They will dry, give them time. Then use rubber cement to put them in your book. To use rubber cement apply a smooth coat to both surfaces you are going to glue, then let it dry, then apply your squares.

When i draw lines with windows 7 paint it gives me little squares at the edges that i can move the lines with. This is annoying because when drawing lots of lines that are connected to each other i have to select another tool and then the line again to draw a line that start on one of the ends of the existing line.
