I think we in WA would recognise Laxness’ words as describing djilba, Noongar season in August and September, wth its notorious unreliable weather moods

From ECU website: "Djilba is a transitional time of the year, with some very cold and clear days combining with warmer,rainy and windy days mixing with the occasional sunny day or two.
