ALL MY RELATIONS

I stand within the circle of life
Above me the open sky, below me the ground of love.

In four directions I recognise the compass
That binds me to all living things.
This is my spiritual gyroscope
The equilibrium of kinship.

I walk in balance, I walk in beauty.
I walk the seeker’s way.
I listen to the voice of my elders
I am family before I am me.

I measure what I receive by what I give.
This is the Red Road, ancient and profound
That leads me to the Spirit’s wisdom
To the camp of all my relations, the home of every tribe.

I had to google the Red Road: 'The term "Red Road" is used by Indigenous communities to describe the path each individual travels during their lifetime on mother earth. The medicine wheel is a physical expression of this sacred journey and is used in all Indigenous Communities teachings.

I’ve got so many photos of tracks and paths, so hard to choose

The Elm Dance in June 2017 - when we were still holding hands (i.e BC 2020).  Note Kath Jordan who recently turned 96 and still dancing in her heart. Probably Pentecost when we were doing our own Red Road of kinship.

A red road in highland Scotland - think that blob on the road at the end of the rainbow is a sheep, not a pot of gold
