Candle Prayer in the Darkness

This prayer honours the literal and spiritual darkness of winter. Light one candle, turn off all other lights, and sit before it in silence.

Let the candle symbolise Christ - the Light the darkness cannot overcome.
Hold before God the situations, fears, or news stories that feel overwhelming or chaotic. 

Rather than trying to fix or explain them, simply let the candle burn for them.

This prayer teaches the contemplative truth that hope is often no bigger than a small flame - and that is enough.
