There is a lovely sense of 'thisness' about the activities of the
inhabitants 'breathing in this land of ours'..... Things just doing
what they do.
Our Contemplative Eye
"Only those who see
take off their shoes'
and bow to the God
breathing in this land of ours,
in the rocks, the grass, the trees, the streams,
the termites in the mounds,
the stumpy tail crossing the road,
the kites and crows picking over death,
the bats hanging stiff as death,
.... the ferals messing the land;
God breathing in you and me
the trustees of the land.
Oh to be touched, to be healed,
to see Who is reaching out
inflaming the scrub bush
that is you and me.
