Discovered a nice posting from someone, Carl McColman, who had gone to a retreat and taken part in a Collect writing workshop. He gives the definition of collects as “a short prayer comprising an invocation, petition, and conclusion.” . This is one of his and below that is one I tried. A fun way to find new ways to pray - and gotta love ’snuggle in my heart’❤️
Transcendent and Immanent God,
You contain the universe and yet you snuggle in my heart,
Gift me with your all-compassionate sight,
That I may see (and love) others as you do, and so live in harmony with you.
This as ask, confidently recognizing that you are the source of every blessing. Amen
Carl McColman
Great and beautiful Mystery at the heart of the whole universe
Your love and presence shines everyday through and in all things.
Let me serve you with the gifts you have given me, find new ways to use them
and discover new gifts that may lie dormant within.
Your loving Holy Spirit is the smile and softening in my eyes,
constant companion and giver of beauty and wonder. Amen
