webRTC audio recording not working on android chrome stable/beta

I use the underlying recording library used in this demo http://webaudiodemos.appspot.com/AudioRecorder/index.html , but cannot get the demo or my own application to record on android 4.2 chrome stable or beta? What am I missing? This is what I know.....

When i tried a different demo that would take microphone audio input and send the audio directly to output via the web audio api provided to the <audio> tag I heard my voice coming through. 

when I tried the recording demo, nothing records, and when i stop recording and it saves the file for opening with a blob url, the audio does not play and the audio control time says 1:40. I get the same symptom on my personal application as well.

Any ideas? Does anyone have a recording example that works on android chrome stable or beta?
