In Windows 8 64-bit PC with Canary/Chrome using WebRTC we are connected. Now me and my friend we do not hear each other louder the audio is stable but sound volume is not very loud enough like in Skype. When we connected same machine with Skype the volume level is very very higher which is what we need in that location.

I have tried those advise, but no luck with improvement https://github.com/HenrikJoreteg/SimpleWebRTC/issues/166

What exact microphone model (and driver) are you using?

Logitech C920 was used in Windows 8 64-bit then it happened. But same camera when i used in Mac OSX 10.9.4 the audio was not so lower like Windows 8. (we used Canary/Chrome too)

It is not your microphone or WebRTC.  Windows has application specific output volume controls.  It is likely that the output volume for Chrome (or Canary) is set low, while other applications like Skype are not. Open the volume mixer while chrome is running to see the level.

Also, the video element has a volume. Right click on it and activate the controls. Then you should be able to pull the volume up.

Best Regards,
Silvia.

Video element is set to 100% + Windows application level volume is also set into 100%, but still the audio is low not boosted yet by WebRTC/Chrome/Canary.

if you compare yourself side by side one Skype audio call and WebRTC audio call using ISAC/16000 or Opus you will notice the audio volume level is much lower always compared to Skype.

Many users tested and reported me the same issue, i really need extra audio volume boost from application (not telling users to open start menu, type run, no no sorry, go to control panel no no go back and left and right, this make users crazy, we need a audio boost to reach at-least like Skype)

Is the output going to the same device (i.e. speaker or headphone)?
I've had a situation where it was going to the internal speakers
instead of the headphones and yes, that made it very quiet.

Silvia,

What you have explained is a very common problem we had with lot of users also, its a disadvantage of using WebRTC that we still cant select sound output via Javascript, as a result many users by default do not hear anything at all, just because the audio either goes to HDMI or Motherboard or USB sound card and we get wrong complain that no Audio.

But in this situation its not that case, we are using the built in sound card from laptop, we are sure about that also with same sound card we can play YouTube, which works fine and loude enough but at the same time from same browser when we are using AppRTC, WebRTC, the sound level is not same.

Even we manually put the volume to max in Windows 8, but still our Google Chrome/WebRTC audio volume is lower.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, would suggest filing an issue in the webrtc tracker for investigation. Is the problem present with native webrtc app as well, you can test in loopback with the voe_cmd_test on that machine?
