Hi All,

This is such a valuable group, so happy to listen to the vast experience.
We think that we need to run our own MCU service and we are built on AWS already. Would anyone have a recommendation on their preferred MCU server software ?

Many thanks!

Michael,

MCUs are becoming rare these days, replaced in many places and aspects by SFUs.

The one I'd suggest these days would probably be FreeSwitch - both for voice and video mixing.
On the video side, I am assuming you'll have work to do on optimizing the hardware to support the encoding and decoding processes.

Depending on your use case, you may want to try the following approaches instead:
  1. Use Gstreamer or ffmpeg and do it yourself
  2. Use headless chrome to act as your MCU for a single session, mixing the content. The benefit here is having the browser's DOM and HTML/CSS code for OSD
