I'm testing a WebRTC solution on the a.m. system and experiencing very bad results with FireFox 119. All other browsers on my system (Chrome, Safari) don't show these problems:

- Sluggish video
- Long delay
- High latency
- Drop outs
- Low framerate.

The video is hard or software encoded H.264 from various sources. I'm wondering if this could be a problem with the OpenH264 decoder (which has been updated today, as I have learned).

Generally I have a lot of problems with Firefox on Sonoma, so it could also be some other thing between Firefox and Sonoma.

In contrary I fired up my old iMac 27 with High Sierra. After several updates Firefox went from 109 to 115. There is no such an issue in this system.

Can anybody confirm?

I've just tried it with both 118 and 119 FF on macOS 14.1.1 out of curiosity - no issues observed, both versions work just fine. I'm sending H.264+Opus from a Windows EC2 instance (libwebrtc m115 + MediaFoundation H.264 encoder) and receive it on M1 Air

Thanks for the feedback. I suppose there is something wrong with my FF or with Sonoma and FF. There are some scattered rumours about problems FF is having on this Mac version, but not too much, that there would be a pattern.

But since Chrome and Safari work fine, I tend to ignore that for now.
